Our Story

A Local Family,
A Private Waterfall

Bijagual Waterfall has been in the hands of the Vindas family for generations. Nestled in the mountains of Carara, Puntarenas, the waterfall sits on private land that has been carefully preserved to maintain its natural state. In 2018, Alexander Vindas opened the site to visitors with a simple mission: share one of Costa Rica's most extraordinary natural wonders while protecting the rainforest around it.

Today, Bijagual Waterfall is recognized as the second-highest waterfall in Costa Rica at approximately 327 meters (1,073 feet). The property remains entirely private — accessible only through guided tours — ensuring that every visitor experiences the waterfall in its most authentic, uncrowded form.
